Koh Lanta Island, Krabi-Discount Hotels and Resorts in Lanta Island ( Ko Lanta ), Krabi, Thailand

From Ko Lanta Old Town to Ban Sang Ga-U (Sang Ga-U village), it is paved road that both sides covered with greenery rubber trees and cashew nut trees. Some part of the road must be followed up the hill. There are few restaurants on the hill or by the road on the way to Ban Sang Ga-U that the riders can pop in having a drink and enjoy with the beautiful scenery there.

lanta_old_town.jpgLanta Old Town

The first and historical town of Koh Lanta located on the east side of the island. Over a 100 years ago, this is the center of sea trading between the local and Chinese Sampan boat. The first Chinese family started to live here at that time and expanded much more to make this place a small Chinese town. The old town now displays the old Chinese style house on the shore and reveals the relaxing atmosphere and peaceful life of the Chinese people along the 2 side of the street. You can find the municipal of Koh Lanta island, the police station, Koh Lanta’s hospital, a small Chinese temple and a Thai temple here.

Sang Ga-U Village

From Ko Lanta Old Town to Ban Sang Ga-U (Sang Ga-U village), it is paved road that both sides covered with greenery rubber trees and cashew nut trees. Some part of the road must be followed up the hill. There are few restaurants on the hill or by the road on the way to Ban Sang Ga-U that the riders can pop in having a drink and enjoy with the beautiful scenery there.

View Point

A ‘must see’ is Viewpoint Hill, close to the Lanta old Town. It has breathtaking views of smaller islands off the coast and spectacular sunrise views. There are also a couple of excellent restaurants here too : Khao Yai Restaurant , View Point Restaurant and The View Point is located on the crossed hill between the west and east side of Koh Lanta, along the main road. Rubber Tree Plantation See the Ko Lanta local people how they make a living by making rubber sheets, and be able to know how to make them, with hands on experience and guided by experts.

Ko Lanta Marine National Park

Situated on the island’s southern extremity, this national park is 134 km2 of tropical evergreen forest with coastal grasslands where Lanta’s hills suddenly plunge into the sea. There are two beaches in the National Park; Had Hin Ngam (beautiful stone beach) and Tanode Beach (Palm Beach). Overlooking from the dramatic vantage point of the cape’s little light station, you can see the most wonderful panorama of surf crashing on western cliffs and twin bays. Separating these beaches is a grassy meadow dotted with 100 sugar palms. The beaches are great for picnic but there is no accommodation.
